This is the second postcard that was written by Clara. This time she is writing to Mary Goodacre’s sister Frances who lives in Willoughby On The Wolds.
My dear friend
I think you will agree it has been a most impossible day for cycling and can only think you wouldn’t expect me. I wonder what tomorrow will be like. I am afraid the roads will hardly dry up enough after so much rain, but they do dry rather quickly this time of year. I suppose you will not be coming to Loughborough until Mrs Burder sends for you to be interviewed and that may not be as early as Thursday, if not that means I shant be able to see you unless I come, so if unfavorable tomorrow shall look forward to trying Friday, but perhaps it will be settled tomorrow. Let us hope so. thanks so much for letter. I have read it many times over. Love to all Clara
It has cleared up grand now, if there is no more rain the roads will be allright tomorrow.
