This beautiful birthday postcard was sent to Amy Copson of 29 Gladstone Street Loughborough 18th September 1916 the message reads:
“Dear Amy, Try rest love & many happy returns of the day love from both Pollie & Charlie
Amy, before living at Gladstone Street, was courting Edward Copson. Edward was a coach builder but in 1915 he joined the army.
Amy and Edward had a special license to get married and were married at King Street Baptist Chapel on the 27th October 1915, the following day 28th October 1915 Edward left to join the army. He not only joined the army but on the 1st April 1918 he joined the RAF until he was discharged in 1920. He returned home.
Amy after living in Gladstone street moved to Deane Street where she lived with her family in 1939.
in 1987 Amy was now in the Quorn Nursing Home were she remained until she died on July 14th 1987. She was 95 years old.
She did have children, Ted and Margaret and sadly her son Ted passed away before her on April 17th 1979.
Amy’s mother and father and siblings lived in Loughborough and so did her children.
