A postcard was sent to Jannie Dunn who lived at 17 King street Loughborough. It was sent from a lady called Lily who was in Great Yarmouth at the time. The postcard says:
Dear Jannie
Just a line to let you know I have arrived safe and I am having a ripping time.
Yours Sincerely Lily.
I have researched Jannie Dunn and found that her full name is Mary Jane Dunn and she worked at a hosiery factory. she was born around 1890 in Loughborough and was around 18 years of age when the postcard was sent to her.
The postcard has no surname for Lily, but after researching on Ancestry I found the following:
Lily Beatrice Bowley, 60 King Street Loughborough. She born around 1888 and would be approx 20 years old when the postcard was written she too worked in a hosiery factory.
I cannot be 100% sure that Lily on the postcard is indeed Lily Beatrice Bowley, but after adding in all the factors of age, where she lived and where she worked it could be her.
